Onions In Cream Recipe
Onions in cream is a lightly cooked preparation of onions with parsley. Flavorful and delicious, the onions in cream is prepared with half and half, butter and spiced with cloves. Served over meat or vegetables, they surely pep things up.
Ingredients
24 small white onions
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
Dash of cloves
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 cup half and half
Directions
Cover peeled onions with cold, salted water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and cook slowly until onions are tender when tested with a fork.
Drain thoroughly.
Melt butter in a saucepan, add flour a little at a time, stir until smooth, and cook over a low heat for several minutes.
Stir in half and half and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until sauce is smooth and bubbly.
Remove from heat, stir in salt, cloves, and parsley.
Combine with onions.
