Homemade Onion Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| Onions | 2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Butter | 4 Teaspoon | |
| Flour | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Chicken broth | 5 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt and white pepper | ||
| White wine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Toasted bread slices | ||
| Parmesan cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
Directions
In a skillet, saute the onions in the butter until golden.
Blend in the flour and cook, stirring, for two minutes.
Add the chicken broth gradually, stirring constantly.
Simmer about twenty minutes over low heat.
Stir in the salt and pepper.
Correct seasoning.
Add the wine and heat through.
Pour the soup into individual bowls.
Top each bowl with a slice of toasted bread.
Sprinkle generously with the cheese and serve.
If you wish, set the bowls under the broiler for a few seconds to melt the cheese before serving.
