Ingredients

 
1/2 clove garlic
 
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
 
1 (3/4-ounce) package brown gravy mix
 
1/2 cup water
 
1/2 cup Burgundy or other dry red wine
 
Pinch of pepper
 
1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
 
1 cup thinly sliced green onion

Directions

Saute garlic in butter in a large skillet.
Add gravy mix, water, wine, and pepper, bring to a boil.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened.
Add mushrooms and green onions, cook until thoroughly heated.
Serve sauce hot with beef patties or steak.
