Onion Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
| Milk | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| 1 1/2 lbs. onions, peeled and thickly sliced | ||
| 2 egg yolks, fork beaten | ||
| Dairy sour cream | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 cup finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese | ||
| Dry bread crumbs | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Heat milk, butter, salt, and pepper in a saucepan.
Add onion and cook covered until tender, about 15 minutes.
Turn onion mixture into a 1 quart casserole and pour a mixture of egg yolks, sour cream, and cheese over onions.
Top with bread crumbs.
Heat in a 350°F oven 10 to 12 minutes.
