ONION AND APPLE PIE Recipe

Ingredients

 
Short crust pastry
 
1 lb. cooking apples
 
1 oz. butter
 
1 lb. onions
 
1 tblspn, brown sugar
 
1 tblspn, cream
 
1 tspn, dried sage
 
salt

Directions

Peel, core and chop the apples.
Peel and chop the onions.
Line a pie dish with short crust pastry.
Mix the apples and onions well together with the sage, sugar and pinch salt, and place in the pastry case.
Melt the butter and pour over the mixture, then pour over the cream, or top of the milk.
Cover with a pastry lid, and brush with milk.
Bake in hot oven until the crust is golden and crisp
