Onion Soup En Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
16 ounces onions, sliced thin
1 quart water
5 envelopes instant beef broth and seasoning mix, or 5 beef bouillon cubes
1 teaspoon "legal" steak sauce
Dash celery salt
Pepper
4 slices toast (optional)
2 ounces grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Directions
In flameproof casserole, cook onions in boiling water with beef broth mix, steak sauce and celery salt, until onions are soft (about 10 minutes).
Put casserole into 450° F. oven and cook uncovered until bubbly.
Sprinkle with pepper and serve hot.
For lunch, divide Parmesan cheese over toast and place on top of casserole.
Bake until cheese is melted.
