Ingredients
3 onions, sliced
2 t butter
2 t wholewheat flour
3 c stock
1 c white wine
6 slices wholewheat bread, dried
1/4 lb Swiss cheese, grated
1/4 lb Swiss cheese, sliced
Directions
Using a heavy skillet, cook onions in butter for about 10 minutes or until slightly browned.
Sprinkle with wholewheat flour and cook 2 minutes more.
Add stock and simmer 15 minutes longer.
Pour ingredients into a casserole.
Add wine.
Place bread slices on top of liquid, then top bread with the grated and sliced cheese.
Heat in a 450° degree oven for 10 minutes
