Onion Soup With French Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter | 3 Tablespoon | |
| 4 large onions, sliced thin | ||
| Flour | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Beef Stock | 8 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| French bread, lightly toasted | ||
| Grated Parmesan cheese | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Melt butter in heavy skillet.
Add onions and cook gently until soft but not brown.
Add flour and stir to blend.
Stir in beef stock and simmer 10 minutes.
Taste and add salt and pepper if necessary (amount will depend on seasoning in stock).
Heat oven to 450 degrees.
Pour soup into individual ovenproof soup bowls or large casserole.
Top with toast and sprinkle toast thickly with Parmesan cheese.
Put in oven and heat until cheese is nicely browned.
