Onion Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 medium-sized onions, thinly sliced | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 3 cups regular-strength beef broth | ||
| Worcestershire, salt, and pepper to taste | ||
| French bread slice | 4 , toasted | |
| Butter or margarine | ||
| Grated Parmesan cheese | ||
Directions
Saute onions in the butter over very low heat until they are a rich golden or caramel color.
Add beef broth, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper to taste.
Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until onions are very tender.
Spread bread with butter and sprinkle with cheese.
Pour the soup into 4 individual heatproof casseroles, float a slice of cheese toast in each, and place under the broiler just until the cheese is nicely browned.
