| Butter/Margarine | 6 Tablespoon | |
| 2 cups crumbs of cheese-flavored crackers | ||
| Onions | 3 Large, thinly sliced | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1/4 teaspoon each of pepper and crumbled dry marjoram | ||
| Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Melt 4 tablespoons butter and mix with 1 1/2 cups cracker crumbs.
Press on bottom and sides of 9-inch pie pan to form a shell.
Saute onions in remaining butter until limp and golden.
Spoon into crumb shell.
Beat eggs slightly with milk, salt, pepper, marjoram, and cheese.
Turn into skillet and cook over very low heat, stirring, just until cheese melts.
Carefully pour sauce over onions; sprinkle reserved crumbs evenly over top.
Bake in preheated slow oven (325°F.) for 30 minutes, or until custard is set.
