Onion Cheese Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| Onion | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon, melted | |
| Rising flour | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shortening | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 , beaten | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese | 2 Cup (16 tbs), divided | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), melted |
Directions
Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter until tender.
Place flour in large mixing bowl; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Combine eggs and milk; add to dry ingredients and stir only until moistened.
Add onion and 1 cup cheese.
Spread dough in greased 9-inch square baking dish.
Sprinkle top with remaining cheese; drizzle with 1/4 cup melted butter.
Bake at 400° for 25 minutes.
Cut into 3- x 1-inch strips and serve hot.
