Ingredients
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 3 onions, cut into half slices | ||
| 2 French (dry) shallots, chopped | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), finley sliced | |
| Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup (60 ml) dry white wine (optional) | ||
| Beef Stock | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Chives | 1/2 Teaspoon, chopped | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
– In a stove-top casserole, melt butter and saute onions, shallots and garlic. Add water, wine and beef stock. Cover and bring to a boil. Cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Sprinkle with chives.
