Classic One-Dish Meal Recipe

Ingredients
3 med. chopped onions
1 stalk celery
3 tbsp. shortening
1 lb. ground beef
2 c. canned tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
1 c washed uncooked rice
Directions
Chop onions and celery together; brown in shortening.
Add ground beef and brown.
Add tomatoes and juice, salt, pepper, chili powder and rice.
Put in 2 quart casserole.
Cover; cook for 1 hour at 325 degrees.
Remove cover for last 15 minutes to brown top.
Add more tomato juice if needed.
