One Dish Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Green peas | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Whole kernel corn | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Tomato Paste | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Onions | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Green pepper | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Ground beef | 1 Pound | |
| Tomatoes | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Melted butter | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Rising cornmeal | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Rising flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Milk | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste |
Directions
Drain the peas and corn and reserve liquid.
Place the peas and corn in a greased 2-quart casserole and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Add the tomato paste, onions and green pepper.
Mix reserved liquid with enough water to make 1 1/2 cups liquid.
Add to casserole and mix well.
Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and place over corn mixture.
Add the tomatoes, water and butter.
Mix the cornmeal and flour with egg.
Add the milk and water and mix well.
Pour over casserole.
Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour.
