Old Fashioned Rice Pudding Recipe
Yummy Old Fashioned Rice Pudding brings backs such wonderful memories from my mothers kitchen. This is a time tested and perfected Old Fashioned Rice Pudding recipe that you wouldn't want to miss! Try it!
Ingredients
2/3 cup uncooked long grain rice
3 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 can peach slices, drained
Directions
Combine rice, milk, and salt in top of a double boiler.
Cover and cook over simmering water, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender, about 1 hour.
Remove from heat; add sugar, vanilla extract, and spices.
Cool, then chill.
Whip cream until soft peaks are formed; fold into chilled rice mixture.
Arrange a few peach slices in sherbet glasses and top with rice pudding.
Garnish with peach slices, if desired.
