Directions

Mix spices, baking powder, soda, salt and bread crumbs together.
Add suet, eggs, molasses, orange juice and milk.
Sprinkle flour over glazed fruit and raisins; toss lightly.
Add to molasses mixture, stirring well.
Turn into greased 2-quart pudding mold.
Place mold on rack in deep kettle; pour in boiling water to half the depth of mold.
Steam for 5 hours, adding additional boiling water during steaming if necessary.
Garnish with confectioners' sugar icing if desired.
Serve warm.
