Old-Fashioned Ginger Snaps Recipe
No one can eat just one is my claim for this recipe of Old-fashioned Gingersnaps. This Old-fashioned Gingersnaps as a Snack is a winner! You don't have to be a gourmet to judge how mouth-watering and tasty this dish really is.
Ingredients
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup margarine or shortening
1 cup well packed brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup molasses (cooking)
Directions
Sift dry ingredients together.
Beat margarine until creamy.
Add brown sugar gradually, beating all the time, then beat in egg and molasses.
Stir in sifted dry ingredients and blend thoroughly.
Chill dough until firm enough to handle.
Shape into small balls and roll in granulated sugar.
Arrange balls two inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Flatten with finger tips or the bottom of a glass.
Bake at 350F for about 10 minutes.
