Old Fashioned Ginger Cookies Recipe
These old fashioned ginger cookies are made with three spices and sweetened with sugar and molasses. Prepared with a batter of flour, butter and eggs, the threesome of ginger, cinnamon and cloves flavores this old fashioned ginger cookies.
Ingredients
11/2 cups butter or shortening
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup molasses
41/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs.
Beat well and add molasses.
Sift flour with soda, salt and spices and mix gradually into batter.
Should be fairly stiff batter.
Pinch off pieces and roll into balls.
Place on greased cookie sheets.
Press down with a fork.
If in a hurry just drop from spoon.
Bake at 350F.
