Old Fashioned Cornbread Stuffing Recipe

The flavor of this Old Fashioned Cornbread Stuffing recipe has played on my senses so much that I hardly ever go for any other Old Fashioned Cornbread Stuffing recipe. Whenever I have Canadian friends visiting, I always prepare Old Fashioned Cornbread Stuffing which is the most savored dish of their cuisine. I prepare this yum Old Fashioned Cornbread Stuffing as a Side Dish every month or even more often. I am certain you and I will concur that this Old Fashioned Cornbread Stuffing is just delicious.

Ingredients

 
1 cup dark or golden seedless raisins
 
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced celery
 
8 cups soft white-bread crumbs
 
6 cups cornbread crumbs
 
1 cup coarsely chopped salted toasted almonds
 
1/2 cup chopped parsley
 
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
 
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
 
1 teaspoon salt
 
1/2 teaspoon pepper
 
2/3 cup giblet broth
 
1/2 cup instant minced onion
 
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
 
2 eggs, beaten

Directions

Combine raisins, celery, crumbs, almonds, and parsley.
Sprinkle with a mixture of the poultry seasoning, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
Add broth and onion to butter; add butter mixture and eggs to crumb mixture, mixing lightly.
Spoon mixture lightly into turkey; or shape into stuffing balls, place on greased baking sheet, and bake at 350°F 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
