Old Fashioned Strawberry Shortcake Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 to 1 cup milk
4 tablespoons shortening
Directions
Work shortening into flour which has been sifted with baking powder and salt.
Add milk to make a soft dough that can be handled without sticking.
Roll the dough out to about 1/2-inch thick.
Bake in hot oven 430° F. until brown, twelve to fifteen minutes.
While biscuits are hot split them, butter lower half and spread with brown sugar, cover with sugared, cold strawberries, cut in pieces.
Turn upper half of biscuit upside down and place on lower half, butter top, spread with brown sugar and cover with more berries, some whole.
