Spicy Old Fashioned Beef Stew Recipe
|Vegetable oil||1 Tablespoon (Crisco Brand)|
|Boneless beef round steak||1 1⁄4 Pound, trimmed and cut into 1 inch cubes|
|Water||2 3⁄4 Cup (44 tbs), divided|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Carrots||8 Medium, quartered|
|Potatoes||8 Small, peeled and quartered|
|Onions||4 Small, quartered|
|Frozen cut green beans||9 Ounce (1 Package)|

Cook and stir until browned.
Add 1 1/2 cups water, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, garlic, paprika and pepper.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low.
Simmer one hour 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove bay leaves.
Add carrots, potatoes and onions.
Simmer 30 to 45 minutes or until vegetables are almost tender.
Simmer 5 minutes or until tender.
Remove from heat.
Add one cup water to Dutch oven.
Combine remaining 1/4 cup water and cornstarch in small bowl.
Stir into ingredients in Dutch oven.
Return to low heat.
Cook and stir until thickened.
Season with salt, if desired.
