Old-Fashioned Baking Powder Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups (480 ml) flour
3 tsp (15 ml) non-alum baking powder
1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
6 tbs (90 ml) cold margarine
1 cup (240 ml) Unsweetened WESTSOY
Directions
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
Mix dry ingredients together and cut margarine until mixture is the consistency of coarse cornmeal.
Add soy milk and stir just until dough comes free from sides of the bowl.
Turn the dough onto a floured board, shape into a ball, and gently knead 10 times.
Roll out 1/2-inch thick and cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter dipped into flour.
Brush tops of biscuits lightly with a little soy milk.
Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until lightly browned, 14-16 minutes.
