Old Fashioned Apple Bars Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cloves | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Margarine | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup granulated fructose | ||
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Apples | 1 Cup (16 tbs), pared | |
| 3/4 cup quick-cooking oatmeal | ||
| Walnuts | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
Directions
Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, nutmeg, and cloves; set aside.
Cream margarine, sugar replacement, and fructose in a mixing bowl, using an electric mixer at Medium speed.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition, using an electric mixer at Low speed.
Stir in diced apples, oatmeal, and walnuts.
Spread batter into a greased 9x13 in. (23 x 33 cm.) baking pan.
Bake at 350°17 (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back when touched.
Cool in pan on rack.
