As the recipe is written, these cookies sound VERY UNHEALTHY, and perhaps even deadly (meaning likely to increase one's risks of cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome/ type II diabetes and many forms of cancer). I find this especially sad (but, totally in keeping with the Standard American Diet-AKA SAD) because the rolled oats, raisins, dates, pecans & coconut in this recipe are all health-promoting. My bet is a much healthier, and almost as yummy, version of this people-killing recipe can be written. Does anyone else care?
