Oatmeal Fig Cookies Recipe

| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Milk | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| All purpose flour | 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), sifted | |

| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Quick cooking oats | 2 Cup (32 tbs) |

Directions
1)In a saucepan, add figs with boiling water and leave it for 10 minutes.
2)Drain and clip stems and cut in small pieces.
3)In a bowl, beat together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
4)Add egg, milk and vanilla and blend well.
5)In another bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon.
6)Mix the two mixtures well.
7)Add oats and figs and mix thoroughly.
8)Take greased baking sheets and drop spoonsful on it.
9)Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
SERVING
10)Serve oatmeal fig cookies at snack time.
