| Skim milk - 2 cups plus additional milk for thinning | ||
| Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |

| Rolled oats - 1 1/2 cups (not quick-cooking) | ||
| Cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Raisins | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pitted dates | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Wheat germ | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), toasted | |
| Maple syrup - 2 to 3 tablespoons warmed | ||
Directions
MAKING
1. To a medium-sized sauce pan bring together the milk and water to a simmer and add the salt.
2. Slowly stir in the oats and cinnamon, simmer the oats for 5 minutes, add the raisins and cook until the oats are tender, approximately 2 minutes more.
3. Remove the pan from the heat, stir in the dates, wheat germ and maple syrup.
SERVING
4. Among two or three bowls divide the oats evenly, add additional skim milk until the desired consistency is reached and serve.
