Ingredients

 Shortening1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Firmly packed brown sugar1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Eggs2 , beaten
 Vanilla extract1 Teaspoon
 All purpose flour1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
 Soda1 Teaspoon
 Ground nutmeg1 Teaspoon
 Ground cinnamon1 Teaspoon
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Pecans1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Oats3 Cup (48 tbs), uncooked

Directions

Cream shortening and sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla extract and beat well.
Combine flour, soda, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt and add to creamed mixture, a small amount at a time.
Add nuts and oats and mix well.
Divide mixture into 3 parts and shape into rolls.
Wrap in waxed paper and heavy-duty aluminum foil and freeze until needed.
Slice thin and place on greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
