1-1/2 cups rolled oats 375 mL
 
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour 375 mL
 
1/4 cup granulated sugar 50 mL
 
1 tbsp baking powder 15 mL
 
1/2 tsp salt 2 mL
 
2/3 cup butter 150 mL
 
1/2 cup raisins 125 mL

Directions

Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead gently about 20 times.
Place on ungreased baking sheet; pat or roll into circle 3/4 inch (2 cm) thick.
Score into 8 wedges but do not separate.
Brush with egg yolk, if desired.
Bake in 425°F (220°C) oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
