Oat and Beef Rolls Recipe
Over the years I perfected the art of making this Oat And Beef Rolls which was taught to me by my elders. The goodness of Beef makes Oat And Beef Rolls a healthy treat. Ingredients
25 ml (1 fl oz) (2 tablespoons) oil
1 clove garlic, chopped (optional)
2 onions
350 g (3/4 lb) (11/2 cups) minced beef
150 g (5 oz) (11/4 cups) chopped walnuts
75g(3oz) (fcup) oats
salt and pepper
pinch mace
100 ml (4fl oz) (1/2 cup) sherry
6 rolls
sprig watercress
Directions
1 Heat the oil in a frying pan (skillet) and fry the garlic, if used and the onions for 2 minutes.
2 Add the beef and brown for 5 minutes.
Add the walnuts and oats.
Stir and cook for 2 minutes.
Season with salt, pepper and mace.
Add the sherry and simmer for 20 minutes.
3 Preheat the oven to 220°C, 425°F,gas7.
4 Cut the top off the rolls and scoop out the soft crumb inside.
Fill with the oat and beef mixture.
Put in the oven for 5 minutes and serve piping hot.
