Nutty Chocolate Chip Bars Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), softened | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 teaspoon each baking powder and salt | ||
| Walnuts | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 1 package semisweet chocolate chips | ||
Directions
In a medium size bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in eggs and vanilla.
Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt, then add nuts and the chocolate chips.
Spread batter evenly in a lightly greased 9 inch square baking dish.
Shield each corner with a 2 inch triangle of foil.
Microwave on MEDIUM (50%) for 4 minutes.
Remove shields and microwave on HIGH (100%) for 1 to 2 minutes.
Cookies should spring back when lightly pressed in center; moist spots, when touched, should come off on your finger and cookies underneath should be dry.
Place dish on a wire rack, cover with wax paper, and let cool completely; then cut into bars.
