1 1/3 cups blanched almonds
1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 teaspoons nutmeg
How to make Nutmeg Butterballs
Put almonds through coarse blade of food chopper.Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Blend in almonds and vanilla.
Add flour and mix well.
Chill dough thoroughly.
Shape dough into balls about the size of walnuts.
"Place on greased baking sheets.
Bake in a slow oven (300° F) 15 to 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Combine confectioners' sugar and nutmag.
Roll cookies in this mixture while hot.
When cool, roll in sugar-nutmeg mixture again.
