Nut Meringue Pie Shell Recipe
Ingredients
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
Dash salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Combine egg whites, vanilla, cream of tartar, and salt in a bowl.
Beat to soft peaks.
Gradually beat in sugar.
Beat to stiff peaks.
Spread on the bottom and sides of a 9 in. (23 cm) pie pan.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Bake at 275°F (135°C) for 1 hour.
Cool completely before using.
