Ingredients

 1 cup castor sugar
 Boiling water11/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Nuts1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Cornflour2 Tablespoon
 Cinnamon1 Teaspoon
 Prunes1/2 Pound
 Lemon juice1
 Good pinch salt
 Cold water2 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

Soak the prunes for 1 hour in cold water.
Boil until soft in the same water.
Stone the prunes, crack the stones and remove the kernels; simmer these with the prunes, sugar, cinnamon and salt for 10 minutes in boiling water.
Mix the cornflour to a paste with the cold water; add to the prunes and stir constantly while cooking, for 5 minutes.
Add lemon juice and chill well.
Serve with cream.
This pudding is just as festive as Plum Pudding and tastes like it, too.
It is also a good cold sweet.
