1 pound round steak, cut into chunks
 
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
 
1 teaspoon salad oil
 
4 cloves garlic, minced
 
2 medium-sized onions, chopped
 
1 green pepper, chopped
 
4 stalks celery, sliced
 
5 cans (6 oz. each,) tomato paste
 
1 large can (1 lb. 12 oz.) whole tomatoes
 
1 1/2 cups red wine
 
1 small bunch parsley, chopped
 
2 tablespoons dried basil
 
1 tablespoon each oregano and marjoram
 
1 1/2 teaspoons thyme
 
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
 
3 whole black peppers
 
4 dried chile peppers, crushed
 
About 1/4 cup dried mushrooms
 
1 package (1 lb.) spaghetti, cooked

Directions

Brown the steak chunks and ground beef in the salad oil in a large frying pan; remove from pan.
In the same pan, saute the garlic and onions until golden, remove from pan.
Then cook the pepper and celery until tender.
Return these cooked ingredients to the pan and add tomato paste, whole tomatoes with liquid, wine, parsley, basil, oregano, marjoram, thyme, rosemary, black peppers, and chile peppers.
Cover pan and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add mushrooms; simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours more.
Pour over cooked spaghetti.
