Ingredients

 Ground beef1/2 Pound
 8 slices bacon, cut up
 Onion1 Medium, chopped
 Green pepper1 Small, chopped
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 1 1/2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
 Great northern beans1 Pound, rinsed
 Hot water6 Cup (16 tbs)
 Pepper1/4 Teaspoon

Directions

Place ground beef in 1-qt casserole.
Microwave at High 2 to 4 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink, stirring once to break apart.
Drain and set aside.
In 5-qt casserole combine bacon, onion, green pepper and garlic.
Microwave at High 6 to 7 minutes, or until green pepper is tender, stirring 1 or 2 times.
Stir in ground beef, ham, beans, water and pepper; cover.
Microwave at High 15 to 20 minutes, or until boiling, stirring once.
Reduce power to 50% (Medium).
Microwave 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until beans are tender, stirring 3 or 4 times.
Remove 1 cup beans.
Mash and return to soup.
Spoon into two freezer containers.
Label and freeze no longer than 3 months.
To serve, remove from one container and place in 1 1/2-qt casserole.
Microwave at High 14 to 19 minutes, or until heated, breaking apart and stirring 3 or 4 times.
