Nivig (Swiss Chard) Recipe
Ingredients

| Butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1 Small, minced | |
| Chickpeas | 1 Pound (Drained) | |
| Tomato paste | 3 Ounce | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Water | 3 Ounce | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Hot red pepper | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| White pepper | To Taste | |
| Lemon wedges | 2 |

Directions
Chop into one-quarter-inch slices.
Place in a saucepan with the water.
Cover and bring to boil over high heat.
Reduce heat and simmer for five to ten minutes.
Drain.
Squeeze to remove excess moisture.
Set aside.
Heat the butter in a skillet and saute the onion for five minutes.
Add the Swiss chard and saute for ten minutes longer.
Stir in the chick peas, tomato paste, lemon juice, water, salt and red pepper.
Cover and cook about twenty minutes.
Place in a serving bowl.
Sprinkle with the white pepper.
Serve with the lemon wedges.
