New Orleans Shrimp Aspic Recipe
The new orleans shrimp aspic is a simple aspic made with cooked shrimp and gelatin. Flavored with catsup and sour cream, the new orleans shrimp aspic is herbed with dill and best served chilled with shrimp as garnish.
Ingredients
| Unflavored gelatin | 1 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Cold water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Hot water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sour cream | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup tomato catsup | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Dill weed | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 2 cups cooked shrimp, diced | ||
Directions
Soften gelatin in cold water and dissolve in hot water.
Cool until mixture begins to thicken.
Add sour cream, catsup, salt and dill weed.
Stir in shrimp and pour into mold.
Chill until firm.
Unmold and garnish with shrimp.
