4 lbs. corned beef brisket
1 yellow turnip
6 medium carrots
1 small cabbage
Salt to taste
6 medium potatoes
Directions
Cover meat with cold water, bring to a boil, then lower the heat and allow the meat to simmer gently for 3 hrs. or until tender.
About 1 hr. before meat is done, skim it free of fat, add carrots, peeled and halved, turnip, cabbage and potatoes quartered.
Continue cooking until all is tender.
