New York Goodwich Recipe
Ingredients
| Broccoli | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cauliflower | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Carrot | 2 Tablespoon, finely grated | |
| Red cabbage | 2 Tablespoon, finely grated | |
| Yellow squash | 2 Tablespoon, finely grated | |
| Onions | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 whole-wheat tortilla, chapati, or pita | ||
| Mayonnaise | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 3 thin slivers dill pickle | ||
| Lettuce | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finely shredded | |
| Alfalfa sprouts | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Avocado slice | 2 | |
| Dash of sea salt, Spike, or salt-free seasoning (optional) | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1) To prepare the vegetables, cut broccoli florets lengthwise keeping the upper portion of stalk. Also, bring out tiny florets from cauliflower.
MAKING
2) In a vegetable steamer, add broccoli and cauliflower. Cover the steamer with a lid and allow the vegetable to steam over boiling water for 5 minutes or until vegetables turn tender when tested with tip of sharp knife.
SERVING
3) In a big serving bowl, add the steamed vegetables along with carrot, cabbage, and squash and mix thoroughly.
