Ingredients

 Fresh peas in pods - 2 lbs
 Green onion1
 Sugar1 Teaspoon
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Butter1 Tablespoon
 Light cream1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Pepper1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY
1. Shell the peas, keeping half the pods, and wash and drain them well
2. Trim and chop the green onions

MAKING
3. In a heavy saucepan, add peas, sugar, salt, peapods and chopped scallion with enough water to boil
4. Cover the pan and cook over medium flame for fifteen minutes till just tender and the liquid is almost evaourated
5. Drain, discard the pea pods and add the peas back to the pan along with butter; allow the butter to melt
6. When the butter melts, add cream and pepper and heat over the flame only until the cream is heated through

SERVING
7. Serve at once
