Never Fail Short Pastry Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
Directions
Cream shortening with boiling water until well mixed, by hand or with electric mixer.
Add salt, and flour all at once; sitr until thoroughly mixed.
Form into ball; chill in covered container at least an hour.
Roll half the dough for single shell.
Fit into pie pan; prick well around edges and bottom with fork.
Bake at 450°F 15 minutes for single crust.
Dough can be kept at least 3 weeks in refrigerator.
