Add water and cook over low heat, stirring, till soft ball forms when dropped in cold water.
Pour hot syrup mixture over corn flakes, stir until each flake is coated.
Spread on board which is a little larger than brick of ice cream.
Beat egg whites till foamy and gradually add sugar.
Continue to beat till stiff.
Place brick of ice cream on corn flake mixture.
Cover completely with meringue.
Bake in hot oven, 400° F.
about 25 minutes or until meringue is browned.
