Asian Nasi Goreng Recipe
I got to try out this Nasi Goreng at my friend's place. My GOD, It was simply mind blowing! The main ingredient in Nasi Goreng is always Rice. Seems like Asian food never lets you down. This recipe of Nasi Goreng is one such example. I am sure both of us will be in agreement that this Nasi Goreng is very delectable.
Ingredients
3 cups uncooked rice
6 cups water
3 teaspoons salt
1 cup (1/2 pound) butter
1/2 teaspoon very finely minced dry red chili peppers
3/4 cup finely chopped salted peanuts
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1 1/2 cups cubed cooked ham or 1 can (12 oz.) luncheon meat cut in 1/2 inch cubes
1 pound medium sized prawns (20 to 25 count), cooked, shelled, and cleaned
Salt to taste
Directions
Cook rice in boiling salted water until tender but not mushy.
Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in chili peppers (they should be almost powdery).
Add peanuts and onions and cook slowly for 5 minutes.
Pour over the rice and add the cubed meat and prawns.
Toss together carefully with 2 forks.
Taste for seasoning.
Set aside to season and blend flavors.
Place over low heat just before serving time; toss occasionally to prevent scorching.
