Nachos Recipe
Ingredients
| Basic Nachos | ||
| 6 to 8 cups crisp-fried tortilla pieces or corn-flavored chips | ||
| Shredded Cheddar cheese | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Whole green chiles | 1 Can (10oz) | |
Directions
Spread tortilla pieces about one layer deep (they overlap) in each of 2 low-rimmed 10 or 11-inch round pans or ovenproof plates.
Sprinkle tortillas evenly with cheese; then top with chiles.
Place both pans, uncovered, in a 400° oven for about 5 minutes or until cheese melts (or bake in sequence so you can replenish the first serving with another hot one).
Serve at once, picking up tortilla pieces with your fingers; if desired, keep nachos hot on an electric warming tray.
