Mutter Paneer Masala Recipe

Matar paneer masala or mutter paneer masala is an indian preparation of cottage cheese with peas and spices. Flavored with ginger paste, green chilies, garlic, tomatoes and garam masala, the paneer matar masala also has potatoes in it.This is a special low sugar recipe great for diabetics as well as for people on low carb diet.  Diced low fat cottage cheese1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (Paneer)
 Green peas1 Cup (16 tbs), boiled
 Cumin seeds1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Jeera)
 Chopped onions3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
 Ginger paste1 Teaspoon
 Green chili paste1 Teaspoon
 Garlic paste1⁄2 Teaspoon

 Turmeric powder1 Pinch (Haldi)
 Chili powder1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Garam masala1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Oil2 Teaspoon
 Salt To Taste
 Chopped coriander1 Tablespoon

Directions

Heat oil and add cumin seeds and allow them to crackle.
When they crackle, add onions and saute till they are translucent.
Add ginger paste, green chilli paste, garlic paste and tomatoes, and simmer till the tomatoes are cooked.
Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala, green peas and potatoes and cook for some time.
Add 1 1/2 cups of water and salt and allow to come to a boil.
Mash 2 to 3 pieces of potatoes in the pan to thicken the gravy.
Simmer till the gravy thickens.
Garnish with the chopped coriander and serve hot with rotis or parathas.
