Ingredients

 
Short crust pastry or puff pastry – as needed
 
FILLING:
 
Mushrooms - 1 cup, chopped
 
Onion – 1, chopped
 
Butter - 1 tablespoon
 
Sago - 2 teaspoon
 
Stock - 2 cups
 
Cashew nuts - 1 cup, chopped
 
Powdered sage seasoning – a pinch or to taste

Directions

GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

MAKING
2. In a saucepan, heat butter and sauté onion and mushroom for 2 minutes.
3. Add sago and stir in stock.
4. Add cashew nuts, herbs and seasoning.
5. Bring the mixture to a boil; reduce heat, cover and let simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.

FINALISING
6. Line patty tins with pastry and fill it with hot mushroom mixture.
7. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes.

SERVING
8. Serve hot mushroom patties or serve them at normal temperature.
