Mushroom Topped Flank Steak Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 1/2 lbs. flank steak or round steak, cut 1/2-inch thick | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Sliced mushrooms | 1 Cup (16 tbs), canned | |
| 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or 1 tablespoon parsley flakes | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning or ground thyme, if desired | ||
| 1 cup water or 1/3 cup red wine and 2/3 cup water | ||
Directions
Cut steak into 6 pieces or leave whole.
Brown in butter in hot fry pan.
After browned on one side, turn; top with onions and mushrooms.
Sprinkle with parsley, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning.
Pour water over all.
Lower heat; cover and simmer for I 1/2 to 2 hours until tender.
If desired, garnish with additional parsley before serving.
