Mung Dal Halwa Recipe
Ingredients
| Dhuli moong dal : 1 cup | ||
| Milk | 6 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ghee | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cardamom powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Almond slivers : 2 tbsp | ||
| Kishmish | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Nutmeg powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Saffron | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Silver leaf: 2 | ||
Directions
1. Soak moong dal in water for half an hour. Drain and grind to a coarse paste.
2. In a heavy-bottomed kadai, heat ghee, add dal paste and fry till it takes on a golden brown colour.
3. Add sugar and milk, and cook on a slow fire till of halwa consistency.
4. Add half the kishmish, almonds, cardamom powder and saffron dissolved in a little hot milk.
