Multigrain Date Quick Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| Boiling water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 Cup dates or raisins | ||
| Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 3/4 Cup natural bran | ||
| 1 Cup whole-wheat flour or graham flour | ||
| Rolled oats | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1 Cup 2% milk | ||
Directions
Grease and flour 9- x 5-in/2 L loaf pan.
In large bowl, pour boiling water over dates or raisins; add soda and let stand for 5 minutes.
Add natural bran, flour, rolled oats, sugar, baking powder, salt and milk; mix until combined.
Pour into pan.
Bake in 350°F/ 180°C oven for 70 to 80 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Makes 1 loaf, about 20 slices.
