Mulberry Whirls Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups fresh mulberries, stewed in syrup
or 1 tin mulberries
11/2-cups flour
1 tspn, baking powder
1 tblspn, sugar
4 tblspns, butter
pinch salt
1/3-cup milk
Directions
Spread 1 1/4-cups mulberries and all the syrup in a greased 10" x 6" x 2" baking dish.
Drain other mulberries well.
Sift flour, salt and bak- ing powder together in a bowl.
Rub in butter and add milk to make a soft dough.
Roll out about 10" x 6" size.
Brush with a little soft butter and cover with drained mulberries.
Roll up, brushing outside edge with water.
Cut into 6 slices and place, cut side up, on top of mulberries in a dish.
(If liked, sprinkle with nutmeg.) Bake at 400° F for about 20 minutes.
Serve with cream or custard.
